Police in Belfast are investigating a stabbing incident that left one man with serious injuries and led to an arrest. The attack occurred on Kinnaird Avenue in north Belfast on the evening of June 8.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 10:30 PM following reports of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from serious injuries. He was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment. Another man was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody.
Police Statement
A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) stated: 'Police in north Belfast are currently in attendance at Kinnaird Avenue following the report of a stabbing incident shortly after 10.30pm on Monday 8th June. A man has been arrested in relation to the incident and is in police custody while a second man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries.' The spokesperson added that officers will remain in the area to conduct enquiries and appealed for anyone who witnessed the incident or captured dash-cam or CCTV footage to contact them at Tennent Street on 101, quoting reference number 1654 08/06/26. Independent councillor Paul McCusker described the attack as 'horrific and terrifying' and praised the bravery of local residents who intervened. DUP councillor Jordan Doran expressed being 'left shocked and deeply concerned' by footage circulating online.

Police remain at the scene on Kinnaird Avenue, and forensic experts have been conducting examinations. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist the investigation.
