Three pedestrians have been taken to hospital following a serious collision in Bulwell, Nottinghamshire, after a driver is believed to have suffered a medical episode at the wheel.
Emergency Response on Main Street
The incident occurred on Main Street in Bulwell on New Year's Eve, Tuesday 31 December 2025. Emergency services, including police and three ambulances from the East Midlands Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene shortly after 4:30 PM.
All three injured pedestrians were transported to Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham for treatment. There has been no immediate update on their conditions or the condition of the motorist involved.
Major Police Cordon in Place
Nottinghamshire Police have established a significant cordon in the aftermath of the crash. The sealed-off area runs from Bulwell Bus Station to the town square on Main Street.
A visibly damaged car remains within the taped-off zone outside a Home Bargains store. The shopfront itself does not appear to have been damaged in the collision.
Officers have advised the public to avoid the area, stating the road is expected to remain closed for some time while initial investigations are carried out. Pedestrians are being diverted via High Road to access the town square.

A police spokesperson confirmed the details, saying: "We are currently in attendance at a road traffic collision involving a car and three pedestrians in Main Street, Bulwell. At the moment, we believe the driver has suffered a medical episode at the wheel."
Drivers are being urged to find alternative routes and avoid Main Street in Bulwell entirely. A separate police vehicle is also blocking access to the square further down Highbury Road past the B&M store.
The investigation into the exact circumstances of the horror crash, which cast a shadow over New Year's Eve celebrations in the area, is ongoing.
