Jeremy Clarkson Reveals 400 Pint Glasses Stolen Weekly from His Pub
Clarkson: 400 Pint Glasses Stolen Weekly at His Pub

Jeremy Clarkson has disclosed that his pub, The Farmer's Dog, suffers from an astonishing level of theft, with customers stealing hundreds of pint glasses every week. The TV presenter revealed in the upcoming season of Clarkson's Farm that the Oxfordshire establishment loses approximately 400 glasses weekly, along with other unusual items.

Shocking Scale of Theft

In the opening episode of the new season, which premieres on 3 June, Clarkson details the extent of the thefts. He notes that by the end of each week, the pub is short by 400 pint glasses. Additionally, cooking oil, light bulbs, and even urinal traps are regularly stolen by patrons seeking souvenirs.

"Just last night, somebody stole £200 worth of cooking oil – and that's not the maddest thing that gets nicked from here," Clarkson said. He also mentioned that light bulbs are taken from the bathroom daily, and urinal traps—devices that prevent odours—are frequently stolen. "We've had to screw these down to stop them being nicked," he added, questioning, "Who steals a urinal trap?"

The Farmer's Dog Pub

Clarkson opened The Farmer's Dog in August 2024 in Asthall, Oxfordshire, after purchasing the former Windmill pub for under £1 million. The venture followed his success with Diddly Squat farm and its accompanying shop, managed by his partner Lisa Hogan. Despite describing pub management as "relentless," Clarkson expressed satisfaction after hosting Irish band The Corrs for the pub's first gig.

"Tonight is the full pinch pinch – we had this idea of what the pub would be like and then you look at this and you go, 'We've done it – we've actually done it,'" he told Hogan.

Health Scare and Recovery

In the same season, Clarkson opens up about a health scare that nearly led to a heart attack. He underwent a heart procedure in October 2024 after experiencing chest tightness and pins and needles in his arms. Doctors informed him that blocked arteries put him days away from a heart attack, which he attributed to the stress of opening the pub.

"I'm back and not dead," Clarkson told farm hand Kaleb Cooper, adding, "The grim reaper will have to wait. It was f***ing close, though."

Clarkson's Farm season five is available to stream on Prime Video from 3 June.
