The suspected charges include attempted damage by fire or dangerous means, the manufacture of an incendiary or explosive device, the possession and transport of such devices with intent to prepare dangerous damage, and involvement in a terrorist criminal association. A person has been placed in police custody in connection with the case.

According to reports from RTL radio, citing police sources, the incident unfolded when officers spotted two suspects carrying a shopping bag near the Bank of America premises in the 8th arrondissement of Paris. One of the suspects was allegedly holding a lighter and attempting to ignite a device, while the second suspect fled the scene. The Paris police prefecture has declined to provide further comment on the ongoing investigation.

These include locations linked to U.S. interests and the Jewish community, reflecting heightened concerns over terrorist threats in the region.
