Top Kremlin mouthpiece Vladimir Solovyov launched a chilling rant on Russian state television, threatening the total destruction of Britain. Fuming over reports that the UK is providing long-range weaponry to Kyiv, the television host questioned why Russia has not already destroyed the British Isles.
Solovyov's threats against Britain
Directly addressing the news on his broadcast, Solovyov said: "The British said, 'We will give Ukraine ballistic missiles.' All of you should drown! Why are we sparing these freaking islands? What good are they to us? They've meddled in Russia's affairs throughout history."
He went on to urge Britons to abandon the UK entirely, telling viewers that people in Britain should "get into boats and head for America, the way it already happened in your history". The propagandist also dismissed any concern for any Russians residing in the UK, branding them a "gathering of pitiful people who fled Russia" and declaring there is "no pity for them at all".
Calls for destruction across Ukraine
Solovyov went on to call for absolute destruction across Ukraine, demanding that major population centres be systematically destroyed. Calling for the complete razing of the Ukrainian capital, he urged Russian forces to "destroy Kyiv, erase it off the face of the earth" after giving residents three days to evacuate.
He went on to question why other major Ukrainian hubs remain standing, asking why cities such as Odesa, Kharkiv and Sumy are "yet to be reduced to ashes". The TV host demanded that military commanders "destroy the heck out of everything on that territory in the zone of 40 kilometres" to create a buffer zone through extreme violence, stating: "If we want to create a sanitary zone, let's create it.
"With thunderous fire and the flashing of steel. Let's create it with a barrage of fire. Let's make it so Kharkiv is not usable. Is it cruel? No, it isn't cruel. This is war, we will pity everyone later on," Solovyov added.
NATO and nuclear war warnings
Solovyov also lashed out at NATO presence in the Ukrainian capital, demanding to know: "Why NATO's representatives come to Kyiv? Why is Kyiv not being demolished at the same time? Are we afraid to graze NATO representatives? Explain to me, why do we still have the embassies of these countries?"
Appearing alongside weatherman Evgeny Tishkovets, who agreed "150%" that "the Russian bear shouldn't ask anyone's permission," Solovyov claimed Russia was being pushed into an unavoidable global conflict. Warning of an escalation into open nuclear war, the host claimed the West plans to strike Russia directly, asserting: "They've dragged us into this war not to end it in a draw. If anyone doesn't understand, if anyone thinks they will find good Russians who will wink at them, don't delude yourself. They will carry out a nuclear strike against us as soon as they are able to do it."
