Thomas Markle denies child sex abuse image allegations

Thomas Markle Snr has vehemently denied allegations that he possessed thousands of indecent images of children, calling the claims “sick lies” and offering to take a lie detector test.

The allegations reportedly emerged after Meghan Markle’s half-brother, Thomas Markle Jnr, contacted authorities claiming he found the images inside four boxes at a former residence in Cebu, Philippines.

Denial and Statement

In a statement, Thomas Markle Snr insisted any illicit files were planted and rejected the claims outright. He also questioned why Meghan never confronted him directly so he could defend himself.

The Duchess of Sussex said she was deeply distressed by the revelations, explaining that a 2018 letter detailing disturbing claims about her father had originally motivated her decision to cut him off to protect her children.

Police and Task Force Response

Following the Duchess’s remarks, the Metropolitan Police launched an internal inquiry into how its royalty protection unit handled and shared the 2018 allegation letter, while confirming the force is not actively investigating him.

An anti-trafficking task force in Cebu, the Philippines, where Thomas Markle lived for a while, confirmed it is “investigating the matter”.
