Amin Belechguer, 29, was sentenced to four years in prison at Maidstone Crown Court on Wednesday after being found guilty of 21 counts of dangerous driving. The offences took place across Kent, London and Essex.
Police pursuit and arrest
Belechguer, of Clapham, was spotted on the A20 Ashford Road towards Maidstone on a high-powered Kawasaki Ninja H2R motorcycle without a registration plate at around 10.45pm on June 27, 2025. Officers were already heading to a separate incident with lights and sirens on when Belechguer cut in front of them, slowed down and waved at the officers to goad them into a pursuit.
The officers gave chase for a short distance. During that time, Belechguer travelled along a single carriageway at more than 130mph, where speed limits ranged between 40-60mph, and veered across solid white lines into oncoming traffic on the blind brow of a hill.
Stinger and arrest
Officers abandoned the pursuit and called for backup due to serious safety concerns. Further along the road, police laid down a stinger, which Belechguer rode over, causing his tyres to deflate. Forced to a halt, he attempted to flee by diving into roadside hedges, but was swiftly arrested by waiting officers.
The motorcycle, which Belechguer purchased for approximately £19,500, was confiscated at the scene, along with his mobile phone and GoPro camera.
Footage of dangerous riding
Upon examining his digital devices, officers uncovered footage dating back to July 7, 2024, showing Belechguer filming himself tearing through Kent, London and Essex at speeds of up to 189mph. The clips revealed him travelling at more than double the speed limit on motorways and through town centres, while pulling off reckless stunts including undertakes and wheelies.
The footage also captured him jumping red lights, competing against other vehicles at car meets, and riding on pavements and pedestrian crossings. The recordings included the journey that led to his arrest.
Sentence and ban
Alongside his custodial sentence, Belechguer's motorcycle was subjected to a forfeiture order, permanently seized, and he faces a 10-year driving ban upon his release.
Investigating officer Pc Daniel Goodman said: "Officers worked swiftly when presented with the opportunity to arrest a dangerous motorist. Despite having to terminate a pursuit due to the dangerousness of Belechguer's driving, teamwork saw his vehicle brought to a stop and secured his arrest."
"Not only did Belechguer drive at triple the speed limit in some instances, but he demonstrated little regard of basic road safety when he failed to adhere to road markings, signage, and traffic lights. Throughout the investigation, Belechguer showed no remorse for the fact he placed his life and the lives of other road users at risk on numerous occasions. This prison sentence, the confiscation of his bike and a long driving ban will keep other motorists safe for some time to come."
