Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery
During the stop, a knife was found inside the car, leading to the arrest of a 26-year-old woman on suspicion of possession of an offensive weapon. She remains in custody for questioning.
Subsequent Search Uncovers Drugs and Cash
Officers then searched a nearby address, where they discovered a large quantity of drugs believed to be MDMA and cannabis resin. Additionally, £10,000 in cash and several mobile phones were recovered. The phones will undergo forensic examination.
Police Statement
Superintendent Phil Spurgeon of the Bury district praised the officers' actions, stating: "This is yet another example of positive, proactive action taken by our officers. If you are out there, intent on committing a criminal offence – whether that is dealing drugs, carrying a weapon or breaking into houses or cars – we are out and about 24 hours a day and you will be caught."
