A 19-year-old woman has been seriously injured after being struck by a tram in Edinburgh, prompting the closure of a major road. The incident occurred on Leith Walk at approximately 8:50 am on Sunday, between Albert Street and Pilrig Street, near the Scotmid store.

Emergency services promptly attended the scene, and the woman was transported to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh with serious injuries. Leith Walk remains closed to facilitate crash investigation work carried out by police.
