In a dramatic development, a Texas wife has been arrested nearly a quarter of a century after her husband was discovered dead near a lake. Lisa Honrud, a 55-year-old resident of Waxahachie, Texas, was taken into custody on Monday morning in connection with the 2002 murder of her husband, Frank Weiss.

The Frisco Police Department announced the arrest, revealing that detectives had finally cracked the 24-year-old cold case. According to an official press release, this breakthrough was made possible through advancements in investigative techniques, modern technology, and new information from a key witness.
Frisco detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Honrud, and with assistance from the Waxahachie Police Department, she was apprehended shortly before 8 a.m. local time on Monday.

The arrest is directly linked to the murder of Frank Weiss, a Plano resident whose body was found decades ago near Lake Lewisville, within the Frisco city limits. The case had remained unsolved for over two decades, leaving the Weiss family awaiting answers.
Frisco Police Chief David Shilson expressed gratitude in a statement, saying, "We are thankful for our investigators who have put countless hours into this case, as well as the Waxahachie Police Department for their assistance with this arrest."
