Martin Short reached out to a friend to inquire about his daughter Katherine before she was discovered deceased in her Los Angeles residence. Katherine passed away in February at the age of 42 due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Autopsy Details Reveal Sequence of Events
According to the newly released autopsy report, the actor became worried after failing to hear from Katherine for more than 24 hours. He subsequently contacted a friend to perform a wellness check, as reported by TMZ.
The autopsy disclosed that the friend proceeded to Katherine's home, where a note was found affixed to her locked bedroom door. The friend promptly called 911, leading law enforcement to force entry into the room.
Inside, officers discovered Katherine in bed with a Glock 19 9mm pistol positioned beneath her chest. The investigation concluded that her death was a result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
