Two people have been taken to hospital following an incident involving a participant and a spectator at the Llandudno Triathlon on Sunday morning. Emergency services, including an air ambulance and the Welsh Ambulance Service, were called to the scene near North Parade, Llandudno around 11:40am.
Organisers Confirm Incident
A spokesperson for Always Aim High Events, the organisers of the Llandudno Triathlon, said: "We can confirm that an incident took place at the Llandudno Triathlon today involving a participant and a spectator. Both were taken to hospital by road ambulance. An air ambulance attended the scene but was not required. We would like to thank the emergency services for their support and our thoughts are with those involved. We do not have any further information at this time."
Ambulance Service Response
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were called today at approximately 11:40am, to reports of a medical emergency near North Parade, Llandudno. We sent one Cymru High Acuity Response Unit and an operations manager to the scene. Advanced critical care support was delivered by the Emergency Medical Retrieval and Transfer Service in a Wales Air Ambulance charity helicopter. Two patients were conveyed by road to hospital for further treatment."
The nature of the incident has not been disclosed, and no further details on the conditions of those involved are available at this time.
