A major police operation was launched in the heart of London after a vulnerable two-year-old girl was found wandering the streets completely alone in the dead of night.
The shocking discovery was made by a concerned member of the public on Vauxhall Bridge Road in Westminster at approximately 3:15 am. The child, wearing nothing but a nappy, was found in a visibly distressed state.
Metropolitan Police officers immediately responded to the scene, wrapping the young girl in a protective foil blanket to keep her warm. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital as a precautionary measure, where she remains under medical supervision.
