Toddler Dies After Land Rover Collision in Co Tyrone

A toddler has died following a crash involving a Land Rover in County Tyrone, police have confirmed. The incident occurred on the Dungannon Road near Cookstown at approximately 15:30 GMT on Monday.

Two other people, Patrick Rogers and his mother-in-law Mary Duffy, also died in the collision. Mr Rogers, 26, was driving a Nissan X-Trail. The driver of the other vehicle, a woman in her 80s, also lost her life.

Mr Rogers' wife and their four children were taken to hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. The name of the elderly woman has not yet been released.

In a separate crash on the M1 in County Tyrone, a woman named locally as Imelda Quinn, 40, died after her car left the carriageway near the Stangmore junction. Ms Quinn, a nurse and mother of two, was a founding member of CannyMan Community Arts.

Police have launched investigations into both incidents and are appealing for witnesses or dash-cam footage. Supt Stephen Murray expressed condolences, noting the tragic timing just before Christmas.
