Tinder Stalker Jailed After Harassing Woman for Months Using Fake Profiles
Tinder stalker jailed for fake profile harassment

A man who relentlessly stalked a woman using fake Tinder profiles has been jailed after a disturbing campaign of harassment that lasted months. Louis, whose full name has not been disclosed, was sentenced at Stafford Crown Court after admitting to his crimes.

The victim, who briefly matched with Louis on Tinder, quickly ended contact after becoming uncomfortable. However, Louis refused to accept her decision and created multiple fake profiles to continue messaging her. He also bombarded her with unwanted calls and texts, leaving her terrified.

Prosecutors revealed that Louis even turned up at the woman's workplace, forcing her to take extreme measures to avoid him. CCTV footage played in court showed him loitering near her place of employment.

Judge Michael Chambers condemned Louis's actions as "persistent and deeply unsettling," sentencing him to 18 months in prison. The judge emphasised the psychological toll such behaviour takes on victims.

This case highlights the dangers of online dating and the ease with which abusers can exploit digital platforms to harass their targets. Authorities urge anyone experiencing similar behaviour to report it immediately.
