Three people have died and one has been left injured following a shooting at a party in a $500,000 short-term rental house in Texas, officials have said.
Details of the Incident
Dallas Police Department said commanders were en route to the homicide on the 3700 block of Vilbig Road in the west of the city early Tuesday morning. Officers responded just before 12:30 a.m. and found several people with gunshot wounds.
Police said a house party had been raging at the property, and guests upstairs began shooting downstairs at people entering the house, according to ABC 8. Fox 4 reported that the people entering the home were 'uninvited' and their appearance sparked a shootout.
Casualties and Arrests
Police said around 100 people were attending the party, and an altercation between the guests and the uninvited people rapidly escalated. Two people—a man and a woman—were pronounced dead at the scene. A third victim whose gender was not identified was rushed to hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.
A fourth person who was also shot is being treated in hospital, where they are expected to recover. Police said several people were arrested as they tried to flee the scene, but they are yet to be publicly identified.
