Teen Machete Attack in Dudley: Police Appeal for Help

A 16-year-old boy has been left with serious slash wounds to his face and chest following what police describe as a 'horrific' machete attack by two individuals on a moped. The incident occurred in Dudley on Saturday afternoon.

Details of the Attack

The victim was walking along Duncan Edwards Close just before 2pm when he was approached by the moped duo, according to West Midlands Police. The pair launched a brutal assault on the teenager before fleeing the scene.

The boy was taken to hospital, where he underwent surgery. An air ambulance was spotted at the scene. He remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police Investigation

West Midlands Police have recovered CCTV and mobile phone footage but are appealing for further assistance in identifying and apprehending the suspects. Extra patrols were deployed in the area on Saturday.

Detective Inspector Joe Davenport from the Major Crime Unit said: 'This was a horrific attack in the middle of the day, and it could easily have resulted in this boy losing his life. We have been working tirelessly since then to understand exactly what happened and who was responsible. I urge anyone with information to get in touch as soon as possible.'
