Emergency services were called to the scene at around 6:30 pm after reports of the girl struggling in the water. Bystanders managed to pull her out and attempted resuscitation before an air ambulance arrived. She was airlifted to hospital for urgent treatment, but medical staff could not save her. The boy has not been found, and his family is being supported. Police have urged the public not to join the search independently for safety reasons.
