Tragic Loss of Teenager Following Melbourne Car Collision
A teenage boy who suffered critical injuries when he was hit by a car one week ago has tragically lost his brave fight for life. Chris Rua Antony, aged 16, was struck by a Toyota C-HR station wagon that lost control in Narre Warren South, located in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs, on February 13.
Heartbreaking Family Announcement
The teenager was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he sadly died on Friday, as announced by his family in a deeply emotional tribute shared online. The post read: 'With profound sorrow and deep faith in the promise of eternal life, we announce the passing of our beloved son, who was called to the Lord on Friday, February 20 2026 after bravely fighting seven days in hospital following the tragic accident.'
The family continued: 'May Chris’s soul rest in God’s eternal peace. Thanking you for your prayers, love and support during this difficult time.'
Details of the Incident
The collision occurred on Pound Road at Narre Warren South at approximately 4:30 pm on February 13. Chris Rua Antony was hit by the Toyota C-HR station wagon, which was being driven by a 48-year-old woman from Narre Warren South. Following the impact, the car lost control and subsequently slammed into a tree.
The 48-year-old female driver also sustained minor injuries in the crash. At this stage, no charges have been laid as investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Ongoing Police Investigation
Victoria Police have released a statement regarding the collision, noting: 'The exact circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be established and an investigation is ongoing.'
