Sydney School Lockdown After 14-Year-Old Stabbed

A school in Sydney's west was placed into lockdown after a 14-year-old boy was allegedly stabbed and taken to hospital.

Emergency services were called to the school on Rowley Road in South Granville at about 10:15am on Thursday following reports that a 14-year-old boy had been injured. Police were told the boy had suffered a cut to his abdomen.

Teenager Treated and Transported to Hospital

The teenager was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Children's Hospital in a stable condition. It is understood the incident occurred at Granville South Creative and Performing Arts High School.

Second Teenager Arrested and Knife Seized

A second boy, also aged 14, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody. A knife was located at the scene and seized for further examination.

"Police remain on scene working with staff at the school; no further incidents have been reported, and all students are reported to be safe," a NSW Police statement read. "Officers are now waiting to speak to everyone involved as inquiries continue."
