Surrey Police Investigate Child Sexual Abuse Claims After Epstein Files
Surrey Police Probe Epstein Abuse Allegations

Surrey Police have confirmed they are investigating two separate allegations of non-recent child sexual abuse, following the release of files connected to convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein.

Details of the Allegations

The force is examining one report spanning locations in Surrey and Berkshire from the mid-1990s to 2000, and a separate allegation from the mid to late 1980s in West Surrey. No arrests have been made in connection with either case.

Background to the Investigation

In February, Surrey Police issued a call for witnesses after a redacted report released by the US Department of Justice in December outlined allegations of human trafficking and sexual assault that reportedly took place in Virginia Water between 1994 and 1996.

The Epstein files have prompted renewed scrutiny of the network surrounding the disgraced financier, who died in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges. UK authorities continue to examine any leads that emerge from the documents.
