A serious head-on collision between two buses near the Pentagon on Friday morning has left 23 people injured, among them ten employees of the Defense Department. The incident occurred shortly before 7:30 a.m. local time at a bus stop in close proximity to the Pentagon, involving an Omni Ride bus and a Fairfax Connector bus.
Details of the Incident
Video footage of the crash, which was captured by surveillance cameras, has been published by local CBS affiliate WUSA. The footage shows the two buses colliding head-on, resulting in significant damage to both vehicles. Emergency services were promptly dispatched to the scene.
According to officials, 18 of the injured individuals were transported to nearby hospitals for further medical evaluation, while the remaining five received treatment at the scene of the accident. The exact nature of the injuries has not been disclosed, but all are believed to be non-life-threatening.

The Arlington Fire Department responded to the emergency but has referred all inquiries to the Pentagon Force Protection Agency, the federal law enforcement body responsible for the security of the Pentagon.
