NSW Officer Charged with Stalking Woman

A New South Wales police officer has been formally charged with domestic violence offences and removed from his workplace following allegations that he stalked a woman. The 31-year-old senior constable, who served in the South West Metropolitan Region, was reported to authorities in February.

Allegations of Stalking and Harassment

It is alleged that the officer stalked and harassed a woman known to him in December of the previous year. Police contend that the incidents occurred while he was off duty. Following a thorough investigation, the officer was served a court attendance notice on Tuesday for the offence of stalking or intimidating with the intent to cause fear of physical harm, classified as a domestic violence offence.

Additional Charges

The notice also includes one count of installing or using a tracking device to locate a person without their consent, also categorized as a domestic violence offence. The officer is scheduled to appear at Picton Local Court on June 11.
