A New Jersey man is in custody after a reckless high-speed police chase through the streets of Woodbury, causing chaos and endangering pedestrians.
The pursuit began when officers attempted to pull over a vehicle for a routine traffic violation. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated, weaving through traffic at dangerous speeds.
Dangerous Driving Through Residential Areas
According to authorities, the suspect ignored multiple stop signs and red lights, narrowly avoiding collisions with other vehicles. At one point, the driver swerved onto sidewalks, forcing pedestrians to scramble for safety.
Police Deploy Spike Strips
Officers successfully deployed spike strips, which eventually disabled the suspect's vehicle. The chase came to an end when the car came to a stop near a residential neighborhood.
The driver was taken into custody without further incident. Police have not yet released the suspect's identity or possible motives for fleeing.

Local residents expressed shock at the brazen nature of the chase, which occurred during daylight hours. "It's terrifying to think someone would drive like that through our neighborhood," said one witness.
