Mississippi Teen Becomes One of Youngest Law School Graduates Ever
Mississippi Teen, 18, Graduates Law School With Highest Honors

James 'Jimmy' Chilimigras, an 18-year-old from Bay St Louis, Mississippi, has achieved a remarkable milestone by graduating from Loyola University New Orleans' law school with summa cum laude honors. He is believed to be one of the youngest individuals ever to earn a law degree globally.

Early Academic Prowess

Chilimigras displayed exceptional intellectual abilities from a very young age. He was speaking in full sentences by the age of two and earned his high school diploma from St John Paul the Great at just 12 years old. By 15, he had already completed both a bachelor's and a master's degree in accounting from Western Governors University, an online nonprofit institution. He also became the world's youngest certified public accountant and achieved an impressive score of 174 out of 180 on the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).

Law School Journey

Admitted to Loyola in 2023 at age 15, Chilimigras quickly distinguished himself. He ranked in the top 2% of his class and earned the highest grade in over 40% of his courses. He represented clients in immigration matters at Loyola's Stuart H Smith law clinic and earned certificates in five concentration areas: taxation, social justice, immigration and citizenship law, international legal studies, and technology and entrepreneurship. Loyola noted that this breadth of achievement is believed to be unmatched in the school's history.

Global Recognition

Loyola projects Chilimigras as the youngest law school graduate in Louisiana history. According to oldest.org, he may rank among the four youngest people worldwide to obtain a law degree. The current record holder is Stephen Baccus of Florida, who earned his juris doctorate at age 16 in 1986. Chilimigras is now on a cruise vacation and plans to pursue a Master of Laws (LLM) in taxation from Northwestern University's Pritzker School of Law, aiming to complete it before turning 20.
