A man has been charged with keeping a brothel used for prostitution after police carried out a warrant at a premises in Oldham. Officers from Greater Manchester Police's Oldham Neighbourhood Team executed a warrant at a property on Broadway at around 4.45am on Wednesday, 14 October.
Operation details and background
The operation was led by Neighbourhood Inspector Amie Whitehead and Police Sergeant Tom Layton, with support from the force's Tactical Aid Unit. The operation followed an investigation sparked by evidence found on a mobile phone seized during an unrelated arrest.
Scott Beard, born on 12 August 1971, of Berry Brow, Manchester, has been charged with keeping a brothel used for prostitution. He has been bailed and is due to appear at Tameside Magistrates' Court on 18 December this year.

The warrant was obtained after officers seized a mobile phone during an unrelated arrest involving a man believed to be connected to the business. Investigators examining the device reportedly uncovered evidence suggesting the premises was being used to control prostitution.
During the raid, officers found a woman in her 40s at the property. Police said safeguarding measures were put in place before she was arrested on suspicion of immigration-related offences and possession of Class A drugs.
