A 33-year-old man has been arrested following a horrific dog attack that left a nine-year-old girl with life-changing injuries. Eva Mangenje, from Birmingham, was mauled by a suspected XL Bully in Springthorpe Green, Erdington, on November 16 last year.
Details of the attack
The young girl suffered deep puncture wounds to her left leg and arm after the dog bit her and refused to let go. The attack has left her with what are described as life-changing injuries.
Police investigation
West Midlands Police confirmed the arrest on Friday. A spokesperson said: “A 33-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being the owner or person in charge allowing a dog to be dangerously out of control. He has since been bailed as our investigation continues. We’re continuing to update the family as our enquiries continue.”
Police are urging anyone with information to come forward by calling 101 and quoting crime reference number 20/445485/25.
