The group, which included the victim, her friend, and the suspect, then travelled together to The Volunteer pub located on London Road North. After exiting their vehicle, the victim and the man proceeded to walk toward Milton Road East.
Police reports indicate that the suspect entered the same taxi as the victim and her friend outside Blues bar. At approximately 12:10 am, the man is alleged to have led the woman into an alleyway near the junction of Arnold Street, where the sexual assault took place. Following the attack, the suspect fled the scene on foot via London Road North and Gordon Road, evading immediate capture.

Suffolk Police launched an immediate probe into the incident, resulting in the arrest of an 18-year-old man from Lowestoft on suspicion of rape. The suspect has been taken to the Great Yarmouth Police Investigation Centre, where he remains in custody for questioning.
