Knife Attack at Queensland Shopping Centre Injures Three

Three individuals have been injured in a knife attack at a bustling shopping centre in Queensland, with one person requiring hospitalisation. The incident unfolded shortly after 1pm on Friday inside the Woolworths store located at Toowoomba's Grand Central Shopping Centre, approximately two hours west of Brisbane.

Authorities evacuated sections of the mall as police closed in on an 18-year-old male suspect, who allegedly slashed one shopper on the hand. Two other victims sustained minor injuries during the attack.

Police apprehended the teenager around 1.25pm. The man with the hand wound was transported to Toowoomba Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The remaining two victims received treatment at the scene.

"No other serious injuries were reported. Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident remain ongoing," stated Queensland Police.
