Jaguar driver jailed after 100mph police chase

A dangerous driver who tore through Warwickshire in a stolen Jaguar during a high-speed police chase has been jailed following a hearing at Warwick Crown Court.

The 30-year-old defendant, whose reckless driving endangered multiple lives, was sentenced to three years and four months in prison. The court heard how he reached speeds of up to 100mph while swerving through traffic and ignoring red lights.

Dramatic Police Pursuit

The incident unfolded when officers spotted the stolen Jaguar XF and attempted to pull it over. Instead of stopping, the driver accelerated away, leading police on a dangerous pursuit through residential areas and busy roads.

At one point, the Jaguar mounted a pavement to overtake vehicles, narrowly missing pedestrians. Dashcam footage showed the car weaving between traffic at terrifying speeds before eventually being stopped using tactical pursuit methods.

Judge's Stern Warning

Sentencing the offender, the judge condemned his "appalling" driving and warned of the potentially fatal consequences. "You showed complete disregard for other road users and pedestrians," the judge stated. "It's sheer luck that no one was seriously injured or killed."

The defendant pleaded guilty to multiple offences including dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, and handling stolen goods. In addition to the prison sentence, he was banned from driving for five years and eight months.
