The son of Fred West, one of Britain's most infamous serial killers, has broken his silence in a harrowing interview, describing his father as a "monster" and his mother, Rose West, as a "psychopath."
In a rare and emotional account, the son detailed the unimaginable horrors he witnessed growing up in the West household, where at least 12 young women were brutally murdered and buried beneath the family home in Gloucester.
A Childhood of Terror
"My father was a monster," he said. "There's no other way to describe him. He was evil, and my mother was no better—she was a psychopath." The son recounted how his parents' crimes cast a dark shadow over his life, leaving him with lifelong trauma.
The House of Horrors
The Wests' crimes came to light in the 1990s when police uncovered the remains of their victims at 25 Cromwell Street, a property that would later be dubbed the "House of Horrors." Fred West took his own life in prison before standing trial, while Rose West was convicted of 10 murders and sentenced to life in prison.
Living with the Legacy
Despite the passage of time, the son says the weight of his parents' actions remains unbearable. "You can't escape it," he admitted. "Every day, I'm reminded of what they did." His revelations shed new light on the psychological torment endured by the children of notorious criminals.
