FBI asked to search Thomas Markle's US storage boxes

The FBI has been asked to search storage boxes in the US that belong to Meghan Markle's father, it has been claimed. The request comes as investigations remain underway into allegations against Thomas Markle Sr.

Last month, shocking claims were made against Thomas Markle Sr. after his son, Thomas Markle Jr., reportedly found boxes of devices in his father's home in the Philippines. These boxes reportedly contained devices with child sex abuse images on them. While Thomas Markle Sr. has denied the accusations against him, a police investigation in the Philippines is underway, with reports suggesting police have found some child abuse images on devices that allegedly belong to Meghan's father.

Storage units in Los Angeles

In a new update, it has been claimed that the FBI has been asked to search storage boxes belonging to Thomas Markle Sr. in the US. It is believed that these boxes are in two storage units in LA that belong to Meghan's father.

The Telegraph reports that police and the FBI are already investigating whether Thomas Markle Sr., who moved back to the US this year after having his leg amputated in the Philippines, was in possession of any child abuse images while living in the Philippines and Mexico. He currently lives in a care home for dementia patients in Florida.

Thomas Jr.'s statement

Thomas Jr., who first found the boxes allegedly belonging to his father at the Philippines home, told The Sun: "My father told me about the two units years ago. He's had them for about 15 years."

Continuing to talk about these storage units Thomas Markle Sr. has in LA, Thomas Jr. said: "One is stuffed to the brim with Meghan's old furniture. The other is packed with boxes, books, photos, mementoes for his career in Hollywood, stuff from Meghan's college days and God knows what else.

"There's something there, that's my gut feeling, I dread to think what the FBI might find."

Thomas Jr. has been interviewed as part of the investigation into his father, it has been reported. He reportedly gave a statement to an FBI agent based in Florida and an agent who specialises in child sex abuse cases.

Letter from first wife

The Telegraph reports that Scotland Yard confirmed on Friday that it had begun the process of alerting the FBI to allegations in a letter sent by Roslyn Loveless, Thomas Markle Sr's first wife, in January 2019. The letter accused Meghan's father of child sex abuse and made a claim that he had gone to the Far East "because 12-year-olds are legal there".

The letter was believed to have been shown to Meghan Markle in 2019, who thought the matter was being investigated. This reportedly was what prompted her to cut contact with her father.

Thomas Sr. has denied the accusations in the letter and previously told The Daily Mail that he has never slept with anyone under the age of 18. He also called the child sex abuse allegations against him "sick lies". He also called himself an "innocent man". The investigation remains underway.
