CCTV Released After 70-Yr-Old Woman Attacked in London

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police have launched an urgent public appeal after a 70-year-old woman was subjected to a violent assault and robbery in broad daylight on a bustling Westminster street.

The shocking incident occurred on Monday, 10th June, at approximately 3:45 PM on Vauxhall Bridge Road. The victim was walking near the junction with Rochester Row when an unknown male suspect forcefully grabbed her arm and stole her black leather handbag.

The brutal attack left the elderly woman shaken and with minor injuries, requiring immediate medical attention from the London Ambulance Service.

Hunt for the Suspect

In a significant development, investigators have now released clear CCTV images of a man they urgently wish to identify and speak to in connection with the assault.

The suspect is described as a white male, believed to be in his 40s. He was last seen wearing a distinctive navy blue waterproof jacket with a hood, dark blue jeans, and white trainers. He was also carrying a black rucksack.

An Urgent Appeal for Information

Police are urging anyone who recognises the individual captured in the footage, or who witnessed any part of the altercation, to come forward immediately.

Detectives are particularly keen to speak with any motorists or cyclists who may have been travelling through the area at the time and could have captured crucial dashcam or helmet camera footage.
