CCTV appeal after pensioner assaulted in Royton burglary

Police have released CCTV images of a man they want to identify after a pensioner was seriously assaulted during an aggravated burglary in Royton, Oldham. The incident took place on Church Walk on Friday, October 30, between 5pm and 6pm.

Suspect travelled from Manchester city centre

Officers believe the suspect boarded a bus in Manchester City Centre and travelled to Oldham before approaching the victim's address. The man is thought to have pushed his way in, demanding the victim hand over bank cards and PIN numbers while holding a weapon.

The suspect then committed a serious assault against the victim before fleeing the scene. He was captured on CCTV wearing a hi-vis vest, and police have released images of the man they believe can assist their investigation.
