A 20-year-old man from Bristol has been formally charged with rape following a detailed police investigation into a serious incident in the city centre. The suspect, identified as Nitesh Nitesh of Byron Street in Redfield, is scheduled to appear at Bristol Magistrates' Court tomorrow, Monday, to face the single count of rape.

The charge stems from an alleged rape that occurred in the Assembly Rooms Lane area of Bristol at approximately 3.05am on Sunday, March 29. Avon and Somerset Police launched an immediate investigation, with officers arriving at the scene within eight minutes of the report being made.
