Armed police officers stormed a property in Stonehouse during an early morning raid on Tuesday, August 11.
Officers raced to the home in Glenburn Avenue in the early hours as locals were awoken by the sudden commotion. Police remained on the street following the operation, although officers have refused to say whether any arrests had been made.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “On Tuesday, August 11, officers, including firearms officers, executed a warrant at an address on Glenburn Avenue, Stonehouse.
“There is no risk to the wider public and enquiries are ongoing.”

Locals who live nearby took to social media to describe the incident. One said: “It was quite frightening in the middle of the night.”
Another said: “There was armed police at the bottom of Glenburn Avenue this morning.”
