Ben Almond is due to appear in court today after being charged in connection with a probe into a spate of racist graffiti in Rochdale. The 33-year-old, of Edenfield Road, Rochdale, has been charged with five counts of racially aggravated criminal damage, five counts of criminal damage, three counts of racially aggravated public order, and one count of public order.
Investigation Details
Police launched an investigation after receiving reports of 'racially aggravated graffiti' appearing in locations around Norden. The M.E.N understands pictures of the graffiti, some of which was on and around Edenfield Road, were shared onto social media.
Court Appearance
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said Almond is due to appear at Manchester Magistrates' Court today (June 19). In a statement, the force spokesperson said: "Ben Almond (26/10/1992) of Edenfield Road, Rochdale has been charged with five counts of racially aggravated criminal damage, five counts of criminal damage, three counts of racially aggravated public order, and one count of public order.
"He has been remanded into custody before appearing at Manchester Magistrates court today (Friday 19 June 2026). The charges relate to reports of racially aggravated graffiti appearing in locations around the Norden area of Rochdale."
