The incident occurred around 8pm local time on Tuesday near the luxurious Via Montenapoleone, an area synonymous with high-end shopping and wealth. According to local Carabinieri police, the tourist was confronted by two men on a scooter—a common modus operandi in such crimes.
The Mechanics of the Heist
Initial reports indicate the thieves were likely conducting 'crash and grab' surveillance, specifically targeting individuals wearing high-value timepieces. The victim, whose identity remains protected, was approached by the pillion passenger who brandished a handgun, demanding the watch off his wrist.
After a swift and terrifying exchange, the duo sped away on their scooter, disappearing into Milan's bustling evening traffic before police could arrive on the scene. Fortunately, the tourist was physically unharmed but left severely shaken by the ordeal.
