Ex-Olympian Ryan Wedding: $15M Reward for Alleged Drug Lord
$15M Reward for Ex-Olympian Ryan Wedding's Capture

The United States Department of Justice has dramatically escalated its pursuit of former Canadian Olympic snowboarder Ryan Wedding, raising the reward for information leading to his capture to a staggering $15 million.

Wedding, who competed for Canada in the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, is now one of the world's most wanted fugitives. The FBI alleges he is an extremely violent criminal responsible for ordering dozens of murders across several countries, including the United States, Canada, and Latin America.

Global Manhunt for a 'Dangerous Fugitive'

Authorities believe Wedding is currently hiding in Mexico, employing what they describe as highly sophisticated methods to plan and carry out killings. The level of coordination and alleged ruthlessness has led the Department of Justice to label him one of the planet's most dangerous individuals.

In a significant move on Wednesday, 19th November 2025, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control imposed sanctions on Wedding and nine of his close associates and entities. This action aims to cripple the financial network supporting his operations.

Exposing the Network of 'Enablers'

Under Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, John K. Hurley, stated the goal is to dismantle the infrastructure around the alleged narcotrafficker. "Today we’re exposing the network of associates and enablers behind Ryan Wedding," Hurley said. "Treasury is joining with the FBI and the Department of Justice to cut Wedding and his criminal partners off from the U.S. financial system."

Among those accused of being a key enabler is his wife, Miryam Andrea Castillo Moreno. She is alleged to have laundered drug proceeds and assisted Wedding in carrying out acts of violence.

US Attorney General Bondi issued a stark warning at a news conference, declaring, "We are coming for you. We will find you. And you will be accountable and held to justice for your crimes."

If captured and convicted, Ryan Wedding could face life in prison on charges including murder, attempted murder, and drug trafficking. The international manhunt continues as authorities intensify their efforts to bring the former Olympian to justice.
