Uber Eats Driver's Shocking Arrest After Vicious Attack on Elderly Customer in Orlando
Uber Eats driver arrested for assaulting elderly customer

A routine food delivery turned violent in Orlando when an Uber Eats driver allegedly assaulted a 72-year-old customer in a shocking confrontation captured on police bodycam footage.

William Armand Hockey, 31, now faces charges of battery on a person over 65 after what began as a dispute over a missing milkshake escalated into physical violence.

The Delivery Gone Wrong

The incident unfolded when Hockey arrived to deliver an order from Wendy's to retiree Craig Nelson. According to police reports, the confrontation began after Mr Nelson questioned why his milkshake was missing from the delivery.

Bodycam footage obtained by authorities shows the dramatic moments when the argument turned physical, with Hockey allegedly pushing the elderly man and causing him to fall against his vehicle.

Violent Confrontation Captured on Camera

Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the scene after neighbours reported the disturbance. The footage shows Mr Nelson visibly shaken and explaining to officers that the driver "pushed me and I fell against the car."

Hockey can be heard in the background making startling admissions to police, stating: "I pushed him, yes I did. I'm not going to deny that."

Uber Responds to Incident

In the wake of the arrest, Uber has taken swift action against the driver. A company spokesperson confirmed that Hockey has been permanently banned from their platform.

"There is no place for violence of any kind on the Uber platform," the statement read. "We have removed this driver's access to the app and stand ready to cooperate with law enforcement."

The case highlights growing concerns about safety protocols within the gig economy and food delivery services, particularly when disputes arise between workers and customers.
