Police surrounded a man's car on a major road after receiving information that a vehicle was being driven from Merseyside towards North Wales with the intention of bringing drugs into the area.
Officers from North Wales Police stopped the brown Kia on the A55 at Bangor on August 21. The driver, Lee Hope, was arrested, and a large amount of cocaine was found in the boot.
Court appearance and sentence
Hope, aged 38, of Lyme Cross Road, Huyton, previously admitted possession with intent to supply cocaine. He appeared at Mold Crown Court for sentencing on Friday, September 25 and was jailed for two years and six months.
Police warning to drug suppliers
PC Scott Jones said: “We will continue to relentlessly pursue those who seek to bring illegal drugs into North Wales and will act on any information received from the community.
“Criminals who are involved in drug supply cause devastating harm to vulnerable people for their own financial gain.
“I continue to urge anybody with information about drugs in their area to contact police or make an anonymous report to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
