Elderly Woman Dies After Dog Attack in Caerphilly

An 83-year-old woman has died from injuries sustained in a dog attack in Caerphilly, south Wales. The incident occurred on 3 December on Heol Fawr, and the woman was taken to University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff, where she died on Tuesday morning.

A 55-year-old man who was also taken to hospital with minor injuries has since been discharged. Four people arrested on suspicion of being in charge of a dangerously out of control dog causing injury have been released on conditional bail.

The dog involved, described as a large black XL bully cross cane corso breed, was seized by police and has been destroyed. The attack happened just over a year after 10-year-old Jack Lis was killed by a dog a few streets away.
