Texas Man Hunted as Pregnant Girlfriend Found Dead in Houston Park
A manhunt is underway in Texas after a pregnant woman was discovered dead in a Houston park, with her boyfriend named as the prime suspect in a tragic case that has shocked the local community.
Missing Mother-to-Be Found Deceased
Ashanti Allen, a 23-year-old resident of Houston, was last seen alive at her home on April 8. Concerned family members grew worried after not hearing from her for an extended period and decided to check on her wellbeing.
Upon arriving at her apartment, relatives found the property empty but noticed a disturbing detail: a hospital baby bag, packed and ready, was sitting by the door. This discovery immediately raised alarms, as Allen was eight months pregnant with a son named Jaxon at the time.
Her mother, Trisa Gaines, who lives in the same apartment complex, reported her missing on April 10. Gaines had received an unusual text message from her daughter around 4 a.m. that day, stating "I am leaving, not coming back." The mother expressed deep skepticism about the message, telling local media "I didn't believe that she sent that."
Tragic Discovery in Chimney Rock Park
Eight days after Allen was last seen, her body was discovered approximately six miles from her home at Chimney Rock Park. Video footage shared by the grieving family appeared to show a flattened area leading to a creek where she was found.
The official cause of death remains pending autopsy results, but authorities have moved swiftly to identify a suspect in the case.
Boyfriend Charged with Capital Murder
Kevin Faux, Allen's 24-year-old boyfriend, has been formally charged with capital murder in connection with the deaths of both Allen and their unborn child. Despite the serious charges, Faux remains at large, prompting an extensive search by law enforcement.
Court records reveal a troubling history of domestic violence between the couple. In September 2025, Faux was convicted of assaulting Allen after he grabbed her by the neck, pinned her down, and slapped her. He served time behind bars for this offense.
Allen's family has since revealed they were unaware of the extent of the abuse their daughter was enduring. "My daughter did not let me know what she was going through," Gaines told reporters, adding "I knew all along that he did something to my child."
Family's Heartbreaking Response
The Allen family has been devastated by the loss of both Ashanti and her unborn son Jaxon. Her father, Edward Allen, issued a poignant plea to others in troubled relationships: "If something is going on with your relationship please let your momma, your daddy, your sister, your brother know because if we had any grip or any indication that something was going bad, we could've fixed it and she would still be here right now."
He also directly addressed Faux, encouraging him to turn himself in to authorities.
The family has started a GoFundMe campaign to help cover funeral expenses for both Ashanti and Jaxon. Meanwhile, Allen's siblings have vowed to honor her memory. Her brother Xavier Gaines promised "We love you, and we miss you, and we will never let your name die," while her sister Marché Peevy added "I just want you to know that I always love you and I'm going to remember you, till the day I die."
Investigation Continues
Houston police continue their investigation into this tragic case. The family reported that Allen's car was missing after her disappearance and was later found being driven by an unidentified individual who had no information about Allen's whereabouts.
Allen's pregnancy had been considered high-risk, adding another layer of tragedy to this already devastating situation. As the search for Kevin Faux continues, the community mourns the loss of a young mother-to-be whose life was cut short in what appears to be a case of domestic violence turned deadly.
