A mother in the United States has been arrested after allegedly locking her two young children in a filthy, padlocked room for years while portraying herself online as a devoted parent.
Police in Pennsylvania discovered the horrifying conditions after responding to a welfare check. The children, aged 6 and 8, were found in a room littered with faeces, urine, and rotting food, with only a small mattress on the floor.

Investigators revealed the 33-year-old mother maintained an active social media presence, posting pictures of happy family moments while her children suffered in squalor. Neighbours reported hearing the children crying and begging to be let out.
