Jealous Rage Ends in Tragedy: Husband Faces Life for Brutal Stabbing of Mother-of-Three
Husband faces life for murdering mum-of-three in jealous rage

A devoted mother-of-three was brutally murdered by her own husband in a fit of uncontrollable jealousy, a court has heard. David Clark, 53, now faces a life sentence for the horrific killing of his wife, Paula, at their home in St Helens, Merseyside.

Liverpool Crown Court was told how Clark's simmering rage erupted into extreme violence on the evening of the attack. After a day spent drinking, he launched a savage assault on the 47-year-old, stabbing her multiple times in a sustained and frenzied attack.

A Chilling 999 Call and a Frantic Daughter's Plea

The tragedy unfolded after the couple's 19-year-old daughter, who was upstairs, heard her mother's desperate screams. She rushed downstairs to find her father standing over her mother's lifeless body, still clutching the murder weapon.

In a harrowing 999 call played to the jury, the terrified young woman is heard pleading with her father. "Dad, what have you done? Put it down, please," she cried, before telling the operator, "My dad's stabbed my mum... there's blood everywhere."

A Life Sentence for a Senseless Crime

Clark, a former security guard, admitted to manslaughter but denied murder, claiming a loss of control. However, the jury saw through this defence, convicting him of murder after less than three hours of deliberation.

Mr Justice Goose remanded Clark into custody, telling him to expect a life sentence. He will be sentenced at a later date, where the judge will determine the minimum term he must serve before being considered for parole.

The case has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting the devastating consequences of domestic violence and uncontrolled rage.
