Recall to prison after SCPO breach

Roy Hickman, a 42-year-old Liverpool man previously jailed for running a heroin and crack cocaine network in Cumbria, has been sent back to prison after breaching a Serious Crime Prevention Order (SCPO). Hickman was released on licence on November 21, 2024, but was stopped by Merseyside Police on Monday, June 6, 2026, on William Jessop Way in Liverpool city centre.

Details of the arrest

During a search of the vehicle, officers found cannabis and several mobile phones at an address. Hickman was charged with breaching the terms of his SCPO and possession of a controlled Class B drug. He appeared at Wirral Magistrates Court on Tuesday, July 7, where he denied the offence.

Court proceedings

Hickman has been remanded into custody and will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Tuesday, August 4. The SCPO was originally imposed as part of his sentence in June 2019 for supplying class A drugs in Cumbria.
