Oklahoma Couple Arrested for Allegedly Using Teen as Surrogate for Twins
An Oklahoma couple has been arrested on serious felony charges after allegedly using a 14-year-old girl as a surrogate to bear their twins. Nathan Potier and Erica Palmer, both 36 years old, were taken into custody on Tuesday following a three-month investigation into a disturbing case of child sexual abuse and exploitation.
Details of the Allegations and Arrest
The arrests stem from an incident reported in December 2025, when an Oklahoma Child Protective Services caseworker discovered that a 14-year-old girl was pregnant with twins. Police were called to investigate a possible child sexual assault at an apartment complex near North Penn and Northwest 122nd in Oklahoma City. Authorities believe the couple targeted the teenage victim, resulting in her pregnancy, with Potier allegedly being the biological father of the twins.
Before arrest warrants were issued, Palmer reportedly told police she desired children but was unable to conceive due to a previous tubal ligation, a permanent birth control procedure. This revelation allegedly motivated the couple's actions. Police obtained a search warrant to collect Potier's DNA to confirm paternity, but before authorities could act, Potier and Palmer fled the state.
Cross-State Capture and Charges
The duo was captured 1,450 miles away in Reno-Sparks, Nevada, by the US Marshals Nevada Violent Offender Task Force. Potier faces one count of sexual abuse of a child, while Palmer is charged with one count of enabling sexual abuse of a child and two counts of child abandonment. Records obtained by media outlets show Palmer's bond set at $200,000 and Potier's at $300,000.
Further records revealed earlier reports from California accusing Potier of sexually assaulting the same 14-year-old girl, with additional allegations that Palmer knew about the abuse. The teenage victim has been placed in foster care for her safety, according to local reports.
Law Enforcement Response and Social Outrage
Both individuals remained in custody at the Washoe County Detention Facility as of Friday afternoon. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office stated, 'This case demonstrates a high level of coordination between investigators and partner agencies. Law enforcement remains focused on locating individuals attempting to avoid detection and ensuring they are held accountable.'
As news of the case spread, outrage poured in on social media, with users expressing shock and condemnation. One user wrote, 'Just when you think people can't be even more evil,' while another commented on the disturbing nature of the allegations.
The Daily Mail has reached out to the Oklahoma City police department and Washoe County sheriff's office for further comment on the ongoing investigation.
