Universal UK Theme Park: New Details and Lands Revealed

Universal's highly-anticipated UK theme park, now officially named Universal United Kingdom Resort, has reached a significant milestone with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by Chancellor Rachel Reeves and other officials. The resort, located in Bedfordshire, is expected to bring millions of visitors annually and represents one of the largest investments in UK tourism.

The Lands and Rides

While Universal has kept specific details under wraps, concept imagery reveals at least six themed lands and three massive rollercoasters. The park promises to be "unlike anything that exists in the UK," drawing inspiration from Universal's US parks with themes like Jurassic World, Shrek, How to Train Your Dragon, and Minions. The resort will feature immersive storytelling, thrilling attractions, and hospitality.

The entrance plaza, similar to Universal Orlando's CityWalk, will be open to the public without a ticket. Beyond a large archway, a promenade lined with shops and restaurants leads to themed lands with adrenaline-pumping coasters, spectacular shows, and encounters with creatures, heroes, and villains.

The Location

The resort will be in Bedfordshire, with about 80% of employees expected from the local region. The Department for Transport is upgrading the A421 and Wixams station to improve connectivity.
