The RAC has raised concerns after Belfast City Airport included Liverpool John Lennon Airport in a travel alert meant for Luton and Bristol, leaving passengers baffled.
The motoring organisation highlighted the error in its weekly travel update, noting that Belfast City Airport had incorrectly referenced John Lennon Airport in a section detailing disruptions at Luton and Bristol.
"We’re not sure how John Lennon ended up in the mix," an RAC spokesperson remarked, emphasising the need for accuracy in travel communications.
The confusion arose as Belfast City Airport’s alert, intended to inform passengers about potential delays at Luton and Bristol, mistakenly listed Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport instead.
Travellers were left scratching their heads, with some questioning whether the error was a simple oversight or a more significant communication breakdown.
"It’s vital for airports to provide clear and correct information," the RAC added, urging airports to double-check their updates to avoid misleading passengers.
Belfast City Airport has since acknowledged the mistake and corrected the alert, assuring travellers that such errors would be minimised in the future.
