Tragedy on the Tracks Halts Victoria Line Service

A person has died after being struck by a London Underground train at Green Park station this afternoon. Emergency services rushed to the scene following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

British Transport Police were called to the station at 3.50pm on Tuesday, November 25. Paramedics also attended, but the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

Major Travel Disruption Across the Network

The incident caused severe disruption to the Victoria line, a key commuter route through the capital. Transport for London suspended service between Warren Street and Brixton and reported severe delays on the rest of the line.

In a status update, TfL advised passengers of the ongoing disruption and stated that tickets were being accepted on numerous alternative services, including:

  • Weaver line, Suffragette line, and Great Northern rail services
  • Thameslink, Greater Anglia, South Western Railway, and Southeastern

Investigation and Aftermath

A spokesperson confirmed that the incident is not being treated as suspicious. A file will be prepared for the coroner as part of the standard procedure following a death on the network.

The tragic event caused significant travel chaos during the evening rush hour, with knock-on delays reported on other Transport for London lines as commuters sought alternative routes.
